Cinco de Mayo

This Wednesday is Cinco de Mayo (which in English means 5th of May). It is also called "Batalla de Puebla" which means "the Battle at Puebla." Traditionally, Hispanic families celebrate this day as a Holiday commemoratinig the Mexican victory over the French at Puebla in 1862.

The French army, better equipped and far larger than the Mexican army, had been sent by Napoleon III to conquer Mexico.
