Spring Cleaning my Blog
Please excuse the construction going on here. I decided to "Spring Clean" our Homeschool Blog so we are making some changes. You may have noticed the change in font on our posts and side bar which was done first. The biggest change is going from a three column blog to a two wide column one.I think the overall look will be much cleaner and easier on the eyes (especially mine). I am backing up my

What happened to that get nailed girl?
So I know I haven't been the most regular poster lately, but I have an excuse, I swear! I don't like to post without pictures of my latest NOTD and recently it's been harder and harder to work it in to my schedule. I only have 3.5 weeks of school left this semester and for the 1st time EVER I have a solid 4.0 in all my classes. I'm working my butt off to keep those grades! I'm working harder than ever so I have a great GPA to get in to doctorate school, so I hope that's a good enough excuse for y'all to forgive me!
Other than working on my grades, my 2 puppies (who are my babies) have been wanting to spend lots of time outside, which eats at my time because I don't let them stay outside on their own (I'm terrified of an eagle snatching them up because they are so tiny!). I'm also spending some time working on getting an awesome coral giveaway together for my awesome readers! I'm just about done with that, so look for it in the next week or two!
My birthday is next Wednesday, and I know I keep mentioning it like an attention ho, but I'm very excited about it! In my family, holiday schedules are busy but birthdays are a mandatory celebration, so I'm gonna party this one up! It's my big 2-2, and I thought I would order 22 polishes for the occasion but have already gone overboard with 23! Get ready to get spamed during my break between semesters, lol!

A Book 'Roo......and Surprises of the Mind.
Yes! I’m certainly a book ‘Roo, hopping from room to room seldom without one within range.
The day cannot be spent totally on reading books, there's so much else to do. However, the books to be read beckon and call out from the pages, every time I walk past. My dreamy mind envisualize’s the next page and all the wonderful new information it may contain. Can’t I abscond from the present for just a moment and retreat to the land of rapture and learning?
It’s intriguing!!
For instance! Have you ever heard the word ‘Somatization?’ Well, it’s a very sad state of existence, when a person truly believes with all sincerity they have some major illness. Symptoms present continually to the sufferer, so surely there is a problem? After repeated doctor’s visits and numerous test’s nothing is found. To the professional eye they certainly look well. And believe me…. there are many ways to sight a physical illness, without a word expressed.
One must also remember of course, we can actually become ill if we believe it with enough intensity.
My newest acquisition is a thoroughly perceptive book written by a friend named Bill Conway. You meet many wonderful people through these Blog’s. Bill is one who I met here, he goes by the name of Beggar….So take the time to click on his name and read his posts, he will delight you.
Bill is a sensitive Christian author and an academic with a brilliant mind. His book featured below is written in conjunction with two other doctors. It leads you on a journey of discovery into the relationship between the unconscious mind and many physical traits of illness.
It’s a great book that may be used as a reference for doctors, psychologists or just the average person who desires to understand more…..

Obama....a Blessing or a Curse??

Barack Obama is the best thing that has happened to America in the last 100 years. Truly, he is the savior of America's future! Despite the fact that he has some of the lowest approval ratings, history will show that he will be the source of America's resurrection.
Barack Obama has plunged the country into levels of debt that Americans could not have previously imagined; his efforts to nationalize health care have been met with fierce resistance nationwide. Wall Street bailouts to his major backers and stimulus spending have shown little positive effect on the national economy and unemployment is unacceptably high and looks like remaining so for years to come. There is seething anger in the populace and that's why he is such a good thing for America.
Obama is the latest symbol of a creeping liberalism (read socialism) that has infected the U.S. society like a cancer for the last 100 years. Obama will go down in history as the face of unchecked liberalism (the philosophy that government knows what's good for you). The cancer of socialist change has metastasized to the point where it could no longer be ignored. Anyone who read the book before the election, "The Case Against Barack Obama" by David Feddoso (2008) would've had a good idea what this creature from the Chicago political machine and his corrupto-crat friends were going to do once they won the presidency.
Now hard-working middle Americans, are getting off the fence, they've woken up to the man who professed change but meant CHANGING the very character of America's institutions. There is a level of political activism in the country that hasn't been seen since the days of the Revolution. He has been the catalyst that has sparkled a restructuring of the American political and social consciousness. The rise of regional Tea Parties attests to this mounting patriotism.
Think of the crap honest Americans have slowly learned to tolerate over the past 50 years with Lyndon Johnson, Carter and Clinton as liberalism sought to restructure America that was such a symbol of liberty and freedom to the people of the world. Immigration laws were ignored on the basis of compassion. Welfare policies encouraged irresponsibility, the fracturing of families and the cycle of generations of dependency. As Republicans built up surpluses, the Democrats spent it on frivolous left-wing social experiments saying that debt was a tonic to lubricate the economy besides their hip pockets.
Children left school having been taught they were exceptional yet great numbers of them cannot perform basic functions of math and literacy, yet feel they shouldn't start a jobs at the bottom of a corporate ladder. We see lawyers from prestigious firms, when they are not bringing fallacious law suits against doctors and business people, falling all over themselves to represent (pro bono) the terrorists that are residing in Guantanamo so they can have "a fair deal". Also through their un-American efforts they allow criminals to be arrested and re-arrested, coddled and set free to pillage the citizenry again.
Productive members of society have been penalized with a heavy burden of taxes in order to support legions of do-nothings who loll around, reveling in their addictions, obesity, indolence, ignorance and "disabilities". These dregs of society lead a charmed life under liberal handouts. They are saying, "Enough is enough!" Barack Obama has ripped the lid off a seething cauldron of dissatisfaction and unrest. The people don't want a "NANNY STATE" like the womb-to-tomb governments in Sweden and Norway. They've had enough of Obama's secular/socialist agenda and naive attitude to Islam and him ass-kissing countries that want to do America harm while rebuking Israel's efforts at survival.
The way I see it....just as the pendulum that swung to embrace political correctness and left-wing liberalism, there is a coming backlash, a complete repudiation of a 100 years of nonsense. A century from now, history will perceive the year 2010 as the time when America got it's Mojo back on the right track. And for that we can thank Barack Hussein Obama.

A STRANGE KEEPSAKE
LIFE"S NOT ALWAYS FROTH AND BUBBLE
YET TWO THINGS STAND ALONE
KINDNESS IN ANOTHERS TROUBLE
COURAGE IN YOUR OWN.
Anon
"I have something to give you" she said.
"It reminds me of you."
The gift was opened to reveal a sad little clay elephant.
Not the usual gift one might expect.
Surprised eyes questioned with an unspoken verbal query?
Her friend laughed.
"Look at it, don't you see yourself?"
No!... the recipient didn't actually! and her heart dropped unsure!
"I'll tell you what I see," continued her friend.
"Elephants are gentle, they amble on through life and they never forget....
They remember your birthday when others don't.
They are aware when your sad. And when you need a helping hand.
This little fellow has sunk to the ground. Just as far down as he can go.
Will he remain in dispair?
Look! he's raising his trunk in hope.
Soon he'll raise the rest of himself and charge back into life.......
Just like you do."
Ahhh ... a surpising gift of encouragement.
A keepsake to look at when walking the valley of dispair.
We are reminded in God word: Romans 8: 31-37
"If God is for us, who can ever be against us?
Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love?
Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity?...............
NO! despite all these things, overwhelming victory is our's through Christ who loves us!
Nature Study: Parts of a Flower
A week ago, we began our study on Flowers as part of our Nature Study. We began to identify the types of flowers and plants we have growing. This week used several flowers we had in our patio to learn the parts of a flower. The printout was helpful in learning the flower parts of our flowers in the patio garden. We used our Primrose as our example of identifying the parts of a flower since it was
