Genetically Modified Foods = Toxins in every Bite

I heard an interview this week by Jeffrey Smith, author of the bestseller Seeds of Deception, where he explained how genetically modified foods cause health problems and their potential for creating a vast array of unforeseen illnesses. These GM foods pose a real danger to your health and the health of the entire planet! He told of how corruption within the U.S. government, the FDA and the GMO industry has allowed and perpetuated this cover-up.

It all seemed so exciting, back in the 1980's, to design plants that could expand the marvelous Green Revolution that took place in the sixties allowing farmers to gain more production from the same acreage. If plants could be modified to resist further pests and fungi a new age of food abundance would feed the earth's growing population. It looked good on paper so Monsanto and a few smaller companies started juggling genes and soon GM corn, soy and canola seeds were in production. With cursory field testing they went on to push for their acceptance.

Corn chips and soy snacks are quite pervasive. Perhaps you've had some yourself this week? Well, let's see how you feel about buying them again once you realize what you're risking by eating them. In the only human feeding study ever published on genetically modified foods, seven volunteers ate so-called Roundup-Ready soybeans. These are soybeans that have herbicide-resistant genes inserted into them in order to survive being sprayed with massive doses of Roundup herbicide.

In three of the seven volunteers, the gene inserted into the soy transferred into the DNA of their intestinal bacteria, and continued to function long after they stopped eating the GM soy! There were obviously serious medical implications to this finding. However, the GM-friendly UK government, who funded the study, chose not to fund any followup research to see if GM corn - which are engineered to produce an insecticide called BT toxin -- might also transfer and continue to create insecticide inside your intestines.

The way I see it...these kinds of studies are sorely needed, and fast, as over 80% of corn, soy and canola grown in the world are now genetically engineered. The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) fobs off any appeal for more research and says everything is safe. Of course, when you see that the Deputy Commissioner of Food Safety is the scum-bag Michael Taylor (ex-Monsanto executive). Jeffrey Smith said in this interview, " Michael Taylor is responsible for probably more food related illness and deaths than anyone in human history for being the one fast tracking GM foods onto your kitchen table." Such an ironic perversion!

What this means is that nearly ALL foods you buy that contain either corn or soy, in any form, will contain GMO unless it's certified organic by the USDA. Other major GM crops are cottonseed and canola oils. Tomatoes and apples are on the list of gene modification. Be aware...that most soft drinks are sweetened with GM High Fructose Corn Syrup so limit your consumption.
NOTE: Jeffery Smith is the executive director of the Institute for Responsible Technology, whose Campaign for Healthier Eating in America is designed to create the tipping point of consumer rejection of GMOs, forcing them out of the food supply. He's responsible for limiting the further spread of GM crops in the U.S., just like others have successfully done in Europe. Australians should now contact his organization to start their own resistance movement.

Week in Review for March 29 - April 3rd, 2010

Week 24We started our week with a bang (or should I say fall). I had a fall Monday and injured my right hip and turso. The boys battled fever during the early part of the week so we had another light week.We spent our week reading books on the First Easter, making a few Easter crafts and watching squirrels outdoors for our Nature Study. For those who do not know: My sons are nicknamed “Turtle” age

Easter Blessings

A Blessed Easter to all my friends. He is Risen...!Matthew 28:5-6The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.

EASTER SUNDAY MIRACLE, HE IS RISEN FROM THE DEAD.....

"The sun is beginning to rise, Hurry, Hurry."
"Mother of James. Do you have the spices?"
"Yes Mary, all is well.....Salome, bring the burial clothes!"
Huddled together against the morning chill, the three women tread carefully over the rocky terrain.

"The crowds have thankfully returned to Jerusalem, so many before......now all gone!"

Mary's bleak expression and swollen red eyes reflected her desolation.
Salome.. walking in the middle glances in sorrow towards her friend.
Words at this moment are beyond all... their souls are empty.

"The sepulchre is this way,"
Mary Magdalene breaks forward to lead the way.
Then with a gasp she comes to an abrupt halt....
In bewilderment the three stare.
The heavy stone blocking entry to the tomb has been moved away.
Terror fills their minds, each having different thoughts?

Salome wonders, 'Who has done this?'
Mary Magdalene ponders, 'Someone has desecrated my Lord!"
Mary, mother of James fears, 'Have the Pharassee's plotted against Him even in death?'

INSIDE:  A brilliant ethereal glow illuminates two strangers.
Fear strikes the hearts of the women........Jesus is gone!
Then.....
Calm with peace....
As their minds register the presence of Angelic Beings.

"Ladies, why seek ye the Living among the dead?" questions One.
"He is not here... but Risen!" proclaims the Other.

"Oh.....Oh... Lets run and tell the others....HE IS RISEN!!

Good Friday

The day birthed overcaste and quiet. Work is kept to a mininal and Australia observes a public holiday. Actually Easter lasts four days.....as this is a Christian country.
We are the Great South Land of the Holy Spirit.
Named as such by a Spanish explorer in 1606.
Hillsong wrote a song to proclaim this fact.
Tradition also speaks in the eating of seafood only.

My thoughts are with the one who died for my sins, Jesus Christ.
I remember his lonely painful walk and cruel death...for me!
I realise the terror over the land at the time of His death, as all turned dark.
Can you imagine, the earthquake...and graves opening... with the dead in Christ walking forth.
And the great curtain in the temple, tearing in half!   WOW! HOW AWESOME!

I believe if I were one of the women who went to the tomb that Sunday morn and discovered the stone rolled away and Jesus gone, I think my heart would have almost stopped!
We can read of this without the total realization of the depth and trepidation!

Stop for a moment!
Think of your heartbeat! Can you feel a pulsating in you neck?
You are alive, and you have a promise of eternal life!
IF, you believe in Him.
Because, He loved you enough, to make the ultermate Sacrifice!
Do you appreciate Him?

Thankyou Jesus.

baptism......In Him.

INVASION? What invasion?

There's a fascinating documentary series on television here in Australia called "The Human Journey." It shows how our Homo Sapian ancestors left Africa 70,000 years ago and slowly spread out all over the world. Each week it focuses on a group going on to populate a significant part of the globe. This week we saw how one branch of this exodus travelled as far afield as Siberia and down into present day China where they settled down to farm and make the first fired pottery about 10000 BC which started the growth of the Chinese culture and eventually an empire.

By 8000BC Neolithic settlements prospered in Egypt, Mesopotamia between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, and in other parts of the East. In 4000BC the site of Babylon was settled by the Sumerians who already had a written language 1000 years earlier. Even in Britain there are traces of farming by 3700BC. Amazingly Copper beads were being smelted in northern European communities as early as 6000BC from native metal. Everywhere you look societies were developing writing, growing crops, domesticating animals, building their temples, pyramids and homes; becoming civilized (advanced) societies and some grew to become empires.

Last week, it showed the trek of Home Sapians following the coastline from Saudi Arabia, along India and hopping along the Asian islands using the benefit of ice age caused low sea-levels and than at 50,000 years ago to go on to populate the continent of Australia. After that nothing of any consequence happened! Unfortunately, that has led to a number of learned anthropologists over the years to call these people a dead-end race.

When January 26th comes around each year marking the First Fleet's arrival at Botany Bay (near Sydney) from England in 1788, Aboriginal representatives get on TV and a denounce this arrival as an "invasion" trying to generate sympathy for this statement. WHAT INVASION??? It's nonsense. There was nothing to see, except a bunch of "pitifully clothed" natives (as one Englishman described them). There was not a sign of civilized accomplishment anywhere. They WASTED 50,000 years on this continent while the rest of the world and it's people moved on!

As populations around the world improved in their scientific, architectural and artistic endeavors our Australian natives stayed as Hunter-Gathers, wandering aimlessly around ignoring the potential of a richer lifestyle. Their great scientific achievement was the Boomerang not the wheel (3800BC in Sumeria). Their architecture was non-existent aside from the Humpy (a stick & grass hut). And their agriculture amounted to opportunistic scavenging of nuts, berries and seasonal fruit and no pottery for storage. Cave and cliff art never got passed it's basic themes.

The way I see it....once the Aboriginals "sussed-out" these better-dressed and advanced visitors to Australia's shores, they should have had the good sense to welcome them with open arms and say "you folks can do us a big favour and help us CATCH UP with the rest of the world's Homo Sapians." It's hard to imagine, now that scientists tell us, that the DNA of everyone on this planet is related to a female that left Africa all those 70,000 years ago, that one part of our earthly family didn't have the incentive to make the effort to improve their lot.

Maybe....just maybe, after reading this, our indigenous citizens might say "THANK YOU" at the next Australia Day celebrations now that our Prime Minister already said "Sorry" to them as past efforts to help them weren't appreciated.

RBL Patrick Starfish

I was 11 when the cartoon phenomenon Spongebob Squarepants came out. I loved it so much, but my parents abhorred it! And since I didn't have cable in my bedroom, I would have to sneak in to the living room at odd hours to catch an episode, or set up a recording on a VHS tape. My ninja-stealth act worked perfectly for about a year, but the jig was up one day... when halfway through my dad's recording of a World Series games Spongebob had problems selling Krabby Patties. My dad was less than amused. After hitting my teen years and having REAL problems in my life (you know, boys, makeup, trying to buy the right jeans...) I pretty much forgot about the cartoon world. But when I started living in a dorm and doing "college things", it suddenly become pretty amusing again, lol.

Rescue Beauty Lounges 3 color tribute to Spongebob is so cute. I originally bought Bikini Bottom during the big sale, but kept waffling on wanting to wear it or not. I put it up for swap and got an offer for Patrick Starfish, which I took immediately and I'm so glad I did! I love this color so much! It is such a perfect peachy Spring color, I'm going to be wearing this a lot in the next few months. Application was absolutely flawless, and since this is a super-jelly it took 4 coats to be opaque, but happily I still have that jelly finish with no VNL. I think next time I try it I'm going to layer 2 coats over Something Sweet or Heli-yum to get a pinkish glow to it, since Patrick is actually more pink on the show.
