Aussie World

Our friends Kerrilynne and Mac have finally come to live in Australia.
I met Kerri through the internet site,  Mates Up Over, while living in Tennessee.
We were two Ozzie girls married to Americans and soon became fast friends.
Kerri and Mac lived in Indiana, but they travelled to Rogersville to meet up with us.
They now live just over one hours drive away.
We met for lunch at Aussie World yesterday.
We ate at the pie shop............I love a good curry meat pie with mussy pea's on top.

The blokes, Mac and Ray.

Kerri tried her hand at trying to turn off the water.. LOL
All of us taken together by a kind stranger newly arrived from New Zealand.
The building behind us is the famous Ettamogah Pub..
The Ettamogah Pub is a cartoon pub that was once featured in an Australian magazine by cartoonist Ken Maynard.
It is the most photographed pub in Australia, and is a meeting place for many on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.  The same pub can be seen in various other Australian locations.
I wish I had taken some photos inside. It is a hoot to see.
See the man pointing......this is what he is pointing at.
The front of the Pub....note an old truck on the roof.

As see in the cartoon.
Writing on the other side wall.
Kerri wanted us to get together before I enter hospital on the 16th Nov to have my heart fixed.
Lovely time together, Thanks Mate.

Great Barrier Reef

Happiness is:  Looking at God's Glorious Creation and appreciating our World.
There are many beautiful exciting places.
Clint took us back to The Smoky Mountains and Pigeon Forge on his Blog today.
So excellent!!!
Ray and I were married there.

So now its my turn to share.....
The amazing Great Barrier Reef, on the top of Queensland.

Where I live is situated just below the Barrier Reef line on the map.
This Reef runs 2,000 kilometres or 1,250 miles...
This a natural wonder and marine paradise.
The first time I sighted it from a plane,  I could not believe the immense beauty.

Can you see the Heart of Gods Love??? It's real!
If you can snorkel you enter another world.
One that goes back through time.
No, your not on the moon.
You travel out to the pontoon and look into the ocean from glass bottomed boats.

There is something about watching fish swim.
It calms and relaxes.

Caloundra, Queensland

Sometimes you have to get away from it all.
Ray had a day out playing golf as a visitor at Pelican Waters golf resort.
This is the club of the 'Great White Shark' Greg Norman.

I used to live and work at Caloundra, so Ray asked if I'd like to visit my old haunts while he played..
I only lived a ten minute walk from Dickie Beach, where dogs are allowed to frolic on the sand.

A mother prepares her children with wet suits for surfing.
It's school holidays and mid winter but the day is too perfect to miss some fun.
The Pandansas Tree.
A sign informs  of rules which need to be observed.  Surf between the flags for safety.

Most of our beaches have shark nets to ward off attack.
Not all beaches allow dogs as apparently their smell is suppose to entice sharks.
If a school of dolphins are present, you know your safe..

Another sign... Can dogs read I wonder??
My dogs think they are people.
Well its a good place to lift your leg.

Everyone is busy doing their own thing. Walking, fishing and surfing.

It was nice to be back. I have many memories of here. Some good some sad..
It is a beautiful place to live.
Every night I fell asleep with the sound of waves crashing on the sand.
Every morning I wasn't working, I was walking and running along the shore.
For some reason, the pelicans don't visit here??

It was a beautiful day.
But I was glad to drive back home at the end of it..
OH, and Ray came second in A Division.

Peter's Paradise Pad

I returned from spending a few days, some 800 kilometres north of where I live.
MacKay, far North Queensland was my destination.
My son Peter is now living at Kolunna Resort, 150 metres walk to the ocean.
I had to be careful parking underneath the coconut palms..
I don't need dents in my car body from falling fruit.

A swimming pool welcomes before Peter's front door.

No 34= 7     Welcome in the name of the Lord.

A ceiling fan whirls to supply all three rooms.

Cool comfortable and just the right size.

Wild Whistling ducks come begging for breakfast.

Sun sails protect the cars at the shopping centre.

We met a special little boy named HAYDEN.
All dressed in a cow suit.

For those who don't know. Peter is my second eldest. He had been off work unwell.
Thank you to the many who prayed for him. I am so grateful!
He is back to his old self and rejoicing....Praise God.
God Bless you all.

Queensland Wooo Hooo !!!

There is no place like home, we all love where we live.
Part of my heart is still in Rogersville, Tennessee, I love it there also.

But in Queensland I want to share our news.
We are (mostly) over the floods..

This is a sunburned country, and a land of diversity.
If its not floods then its bushfire's..
But life goes on and when everyone pulls together.
We share the load, and help carry each others burdens.

My beautiful friend Carol, from http://naturallycarol.blogspot.com/
has so kindly been making and sending cushions to everyone to cheer them up.
What a beautiful heart.
Carol is an encouragement to all.
And most often, to me!!!

Our motto in Queensland is:
Beautiful one day and  perfect the next.

We are now into autumn yet many people wear summer clothes almost all year around.
Not me, I feel the cold, and like my jumper and hot water bottle..
This gives Ray a good laugh.

Some of the highlights of this beautiful state are:

We have hundreds of kilometres of mainland beaches..
Ours is Rainbow, on the Sunshine Coast.
Ray loves to drive along close to the rising tide.

I used to live, at Dickie beach.
Every day I'd walk or jog along the sand.
I love the smell of ocean air, and the sound of the waves crashing.
This is one beach where dogs are permitted.
They have a wonderful time, meeting and greeting each other.

                      The bird life is phenomenal.
Rainbow Lorakeets fly in the dozens.
Although..the cheeky things also eat our fruit.

This female King Parrot is spoilt.
Ray plants sunflowers especially for them to enjoy.

My friend Sharon snapped these yellow Crested White Cockatoo,
on her fence eating a meal.

Tropical fruit abounds.
We have mango, mandarin, and avocado trees.
This is our Paw Paw Tree...

Pineapple plantations grow close by.
I adore pineapple, and they help in weight loss.

Ray and I on a visit to Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo.
This was the truck he took on all of his outback treks.
(We all miss that good natured man)

The famous crazy Ettamogah Pub.
Seeing is believing..
This is the maddest building.

A day out at the camel races is a great laugh.
You can never predict what they will do.

The Great Barrier Reef goes for hundreds of kilometres.
You can snorkel or sight the pretty coral and hundreds of fish varieties from glass bottomed boats.

Come and visit.

"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they (people)are  without excuse."

Friends

I have always said, Friends are like Flowers, they are a sweet perfume in our life...
My friend Starry Dawn has Blogged a poem about this.
I don't know how to link up, accept to put her address on here.
http://journeysandjournalsfromourgalaxy.blogspot.com/

One of my Ozzie friends is moving away to the Outback...
Far away to a mining town in remote north Queensland.
So this morning we got together with her, for the last time.

Our destination was a place back through time.
Gunabul Homestead was built in 1855 by a local lawyer.

Parking the car, you walk through shady century old tree's..

The ladies opted to sit outdoors on the open veranda and enjoy the tranquility.

The ceilings must be 20ft high, which helps with the tropical heat.

We were welcomed by our Hostess, Nola.

Looking around inside is a photo of the Homestead in its heyday.
Together with the first owners, Francis and Elizabeth Power.
I am sure they'd never imagine their home would become a treasured meeting place in the future.

Friendship as part of the Body of Christ has drawn us together from different denominations.

We had a wonderful time sharing and laughing together.
Our photos will keep the time alive forever.
Sharon and I.

Proverbs 27:9
"Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart,
and the pleasantness of a friend
                              springs from their heartfelt advice."

Sharon, I love you!
As the older woman of our little band, I give you the Hebrew blessing.

"May The Lord bless you and keep you.

May the Lord make his face to shine upon you,
and be gracious unto you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you,
and give you peace.  Always. Amen." xxxx

God Bless all friends.

The sunburned country that Sharon will make her home.
